The legacy of Aqua-Aerobic© cloth media began with the introduction of the first cloth media filter system to the U.S. wastewater treatment industry in 1991. Our extensive cloth research and development efforts over the past 15 years have resulted in the OptiFiber® family of cloth media.

FILTRATION MODE - Solids contact the pile cloth fibers and ar removed from the wastewater stream. Some solids are stored deep within the media while others form a solids layer on the media surface. This layer promotes "autofiltration" or the removal of additional solids by contact with the solids layer.

BACKWASH MODE - During backwash, the backwash shoe vacuums the
filtered solids from the media. The vacuum pressure provided by the backwash pump causes the pile cloth fibers to extend through the opening, or slot, in the backwash shoe to enhance the cleaning action.
