Aqua MixAir®

Aeration Systems

The Aqua MixAir® system provides separate mixing with the AquaDDM® Direct Drive Mixer and an aeration source such as the Aqua-Jet® surface aerator or Aqua-Aerobic diffused aeration. The system has the capability to cyclically operate aeration and mixing to promote anoxic/aerobic and anaerobic environments with low energy consumption.

Features

Utilizes the AquaDDM® Direct Drive Mixer with Aqua-Aerobic supplied surface mechanical aerators or diffused aeration

Manual or automatic control of aeration system

    Simplified basin layouts

Advantages

Full range of aeration control without compromising mixing

Greater control of dissolved oxygen (D.O) in mixing limited systems

    Reduced power requirements

    Improves sludge settling

Greater choice of reactor size and configurations

    Simplifies layout of distribution system

Applications

Retrofit in mixing limited aeration systems including:
    - Extended aeration
    - Aerobic digestion
    - Equalization
    - Aerated lagoons

    Anoxic processes

    Oxidation ditches

    Variable load, activated sludge systems

Diurnal flows, less than design conditions

    Batch reactor processes

Taneytown's New Plant Serves the Community's Needs for 20 Years

In the late 1990s, Taneytown WWTP found itself in need of an upgraded treatment system due to community growth and an aging infrastructure. The original activated sludge system could no longer meet the plant’s treatment requirements and was subject to solids washout during high flows and freezing problems in the winter months.
