LOVES PARK, IL, NOVEMBER, 2014 – Aqua-Aerobic Systems was among 15 companies recently recognized by Governor Pat Quinn for outstanding accomplishments in the export of Illinois goods and services around the globe.
Aqua-Aerobic Systems, which began exporting in 1974, earned the Exporter Continuing Excellence Award. The company’s primary international markets include Asia, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Canada and Europe.
“We’re proud that our products made right here in Loves Park, IL provide a solution for our national customers, but also our international customers,” explains Cheryl Kunz, Director of Marketing. “It’s an honor to be acknowledged as a leader in the state for our success in exporting.”
According to the Governor, state exports have been a driving force in Illinois’ economic recovery. Illinois is the largest exporting state in the Midwest and the fifth in the U.S., with exports of $66.1 billion in 2013. Direct exports account for nearly 10 percent of the Gross State Product. In 2009, Illinois exports were about $42 billion.
The Governor’s Export Awards were presented at a reception Oct. 23 at the Union League Club of Chicago where Bill Decker, VP and GM of the Equipment & Services group accepted the award on the company’s behalf.
